With over 30 years of experience, Aida's strategic partners supply products to the US and global markets. The company's product portfolio includes a diverse range of offerings, such as Lighting Control Toggle, Decorative, and Sensor and Dimmer Switch, all designed to meet the evolving needs of customers.
The 3-Way Decorator Switch from Aida is a versatile product that can be used in both single-pole and 3-way installations to control lighting fixtures up to 15 amps. The switch is UL and CUL listed, ensuring high-quality and safety standards. Its impact-resistant thermoplastic construction provides long-lasting durability.
The self-grounding feature of the switch allows for automatic connection to a well-grounded metal wall junction box, simplifying the installation process. The switch is suitable for a wide range of applications, including houses, condos, apartments, and commercial spaces such as offices, schools, stores, restaurants, public facilities, and hotels.
To install the 3-Way Decorator Switch, users can choose between two wiring methods: side wiring and push-in wiring. For side wiring, the user should remove approximately 3/4" (1.9 cm) of insulation from the wire and loop the wires clockwise 3/4 turn around the terminal screws. The line hot (black) wire should be connected to the common terminals (black screw) of one switch, while the travelers should be connected to both traveler terminals (brass screw) of the same switch. The grounding wire (green or bare) should be connected to the green hex head screw. This process is repeated for the second switch.
For push-in wiring, the user should remove approximately 3/5" (1.5 cm) of insulation per strip gauge from the wire. The line hot (black) wire should be pushed into the bottom of the round common hole of one switch, and the travelers should be pushed into the bottom of both traveler holes of the same switch. The grounding wire (green or bare) should be connected to the green hex head screw. This process is repeated for the second switch.
If the switch needs to be replaced or rewired after push-in wiring, the user can gently press the tip of a small screwdriver into the release slot and gradually back the wire out. If the switch or push-in terminal becomes damaged, it should not be reused.
After wiring, the device should be mounted in the wall box using the provided screws, and the wall plate should be installed. Finally, power should be restored at the circuit breaker or fuse, and the installation is complete.
